Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish
Dan & Charles Mason, pioneers of the shoe polish industry in Chiswick
The late Mrs Joan Ridley worked for Cherry Blossom (Chiswick Products) from approximately 1959 until her retirement in 1985. She started work in the wages department, before moving accross to the personnel department where she spent some of her happiest years.
Towards the end of her working time she became the pensioners welfare officer before finally retiring.
It always seemed to be a special place to work, a very caring company where long friendships were formed. Joan Ridley always loved to be involed with the social side of Cherry Blossom and over the years she, with the Chiswick ladies raised many pounds towards the Shaftesbury Society and the Anthony Nolan Trust when in 1987 she and Dolly Melluish presented a cheque to Pauline Collins and met Shirley Nolan in her eary stages of fund rasing.
