The Factory is situated in a quiet corner of Chiswick, where it has been possible to build up our Industry amid pleasant surroundings and yet be within easy reach of the City.
The approach to the Offices is though handsome iron gates and attractive garden, the lawn at the rear boasting a gnarled old mulberry tree and a village cage, with stocks and whipping post in a perfect state of preservation.

A five day week of 44 hours was introduced in 1918, Offices and Works being closed on Saturday. This gives employees ample leisure in which to make use of the extensive private recreation ground adjacent to the the River Promenade.

The ground is attractively laid out for all games and includes a Bowling Green, eight grass Tennis Courts and four all-weather courts, while in the Pavilion there is a panelled lounge for teas, and a number of dressing rooms equipped with hot and cold shower, plunge and foot baths.

In order not to spoil the amenities of the neighbourhood the factory chimney was built in a form of a clock tower, on the railway side of which have been fixed a giant Thermometer and Barometer, and on the other three faces electrically controlled clocks.
